Advice on CNG conversion kits in India

I have recently installed a CNG conversion kit in my car and now it can run on petrol and gas both. Finally after a lot of research online and offline i have made this decision and it really makes me happy for two reasons:

  • It’s going to save me a lot of money as they say money saved is money earned
  • I am going to contribute in a small way by not polluting the environment hence helping reduce global warming ;-)

I am writing this article for people to get accurate information and not spend time searching the internet just as i did. As there are not many source of authentic information for CNG or LPG conversion kits in India.

Overview of gas conversion kits in India

There are quite a few gas conversion kits available in the market most of these kits are either imported from Italy and Argentina and rest are made locally here in India.  Install only government approved CNG kits in your car. As when your car will be sent for RTO registration they will verify the status of the CNG kit manufacturer. There are two types of kits one with sequential system and other is lambad system.

The list of government and RTO approved CNG kit can be found here:

Process of converting petrol car to gas is simple

  • Identify the right kit for your car
  • Make the most important decision to get it converted by authorized dealers or our trusted mechanics
  • RTO registration of CNG kit
  • Periodical checks on fine tuning the system

For better performance

  • Now a days all CNG kits automatically start the car on petrol and then immediately switches to gas
  • For better performance of your engine start on petrol and drive for 2 kms before switching to CNG, as gas is dry and does not provide any lubrication to the engine so when you drive on petrol first it will lubricate the engines

For installation of government approved CNG kits you should only trust government approved vendors. I have got my kit installed in maruti swift dezire from sai service which is an authorized maruti service centre

Pricing for installation of CNG kit in Mumbai is Rs 32000 from road side genuine vendors and Rs 42000 with authorized and reputed vendors.  If your car is under warranty then I suggest

hi Mr. amit,

thanks for the detail information. Please let me know when you have fixed this? – number of days or months.

I am having the desire & i am looking to do this.

how is the performance of car after fitting CNG?

my car 1.5year old. Please confirm which you suggest the most suitable the road side or sai service as sai serivce is asking for 44000.00 & road side is Rs. 30000.00

Hello Vishal,

its been a month now and already 1000 Kms done.

Amit

Hi amit,

thanks for your reply. which you suggest the road side fitting or Sai serivce?

also how is the pick up? how is the performance of the car after CNG any idea what mileage you got?

Reagrds,

Vishal

Hello Vishal,

If you car is under company warranty then you should go for Sai Service only. Also other wise i would suggest sai service as this thing is going to modify your core engine and there should be someone who can take complete responsibility. if your car is not under warranty and you personally know the road side guy then he would be a good option if not then please dont risk road side fitting for few thousand rupees.

Regards

Amit

Hello Mr. Amit

which CNG kit do you suggest for toyota corolla? mine is 2004 automatic.

also ..there is surely a difference in the pick up … first is the dry weight of the cylinder is 70kgs so the pick will drop to an extent that when you car is seating 5 people and the difference u feel then as compared to you driving alone ..that is the kind of differnece in pick up

it working well in dezire

Hello Nishant,

any kit is fine. as i commented for vishal that if the car is under warranty then you should check with your autorized dealer for what kindda kits they sell.

Main thing you need to check if i suggest you go for ay kit which has sequential technology. as higher end cars like urs requires a lot of power and if you put normal lambad technology kit then it wil drag your car and affect its engine.

also these sequential kits are expensive as compared to normal ones they are roughly Rs 60,000 a friend of mine has installed BRC its working fine and does not performance issues

I hope this helps

Amit

Hi Amit

this info was very encouraging for people like me who are contemplating on going for a CNG. I drive a Swift (2006 October model) but my earlier running was very less. Nowadays for last 2 years i am running my car for about 1100 KMs in a month and total runing is around 26000 KMs. I plan to keep this car for at least 3 more years. I have taken 2 years AMC from Sai Service (lasts till 2013 May). What would you advise? Should I still go for CNG..also I heard it takes up the whole boot space…just need a word of advise

For lambad system as it is cheaper, which cars are most suitable for them without creating any problem in performance issues?

want to instal CNG kit in my swift Dzire ,
kindly advise me .

I would suggest you get it installed from a road side vendor if your car is out of warranty or else go to authorized place like sai service and get it installed. right now my car which is a swift dezire is giving me a average of 15 in the city with Ac and on highway (national highway) its giving me 19 with Ac

hope it helps, do let me know if you want to know anything specific.

Hey Abhijeet,

If you are going to use the car for another 3 years then i am sure you should go for CNG. and get it installed from sai service, infact initially my cng kit had a problem in diaphragm they replaced the complete kit without trying to repair it .. thats the advantage when you get it done via sai service and in you case since its under extended warranty then you should get it done via sai service only. you cost will recover in 6 months.

I have experience with Tomasetto Achille and there are no problems with it. Only an expert fitment center is able to create a difference by his skill. CNG kit brand is only incidental to the performance of your car. For a review of Tomasetto you can contact Dashmesh CNG Impex Pvt. Ltd. who is an importer of Tomasetto

For a fiat punto petrol which cng kit is advised the high-tech sequential injection CNG kit or open loop or closed loop .pls advise alongwith approx prices

I heard Romano /Italy are providing best cng kits., anyone have any ideas or inputs regarding same' it is costing around 31000

Yeah tomasetto is surely a good brand and is working well in India as well

Punit i am sorry but i have no idea on whats works best with Punto sequential injection kits are used in high end cars what i am sure off

Mrinal .. they are all govt registered … just fix it form an anothorized person thats it

Mrinal .. also almost all kids come in the same range as well

Hello Amit, nice information. Do you have any idea about i-10 fitted with CNG ? or is it suitable ?does Hyundai does it?

Hello Nikhil,

Yes fittings are done in i-10 as well and its working well hyundai does not install it but officials like shreenath hyundai will do it for you.

hope it helps, let me know if you need any specific information

Amit

Thanks Amit for immidiate response. I had enquired, i got information about Lavato kit. I also heard that they fit Power booster which removes the pick problem on CNG at extra cost of 1500/-.
Now doing servey on CNG converstion and saw this site which seems to be usefull. I will let you know if any more information needed. Thanks again.

lovato is also very good. but tell him not to charge extra Rs 1500 as he is supposed to install it by default. and it will not solve the pick up problem its used just to get to normal pace..the difference will surely be there. the difference is not there in sequential kits with power injectors that cost around 70-80k which is not worth for small cars

Hi Amit,
Very interesting discussion, i have a swift VXI 2010 March Model and have travelled some 14k kms till date. Is it appropriate to opt for CNG at this early stage. Yeah i am facing a cost constraint as i have to travel atleast 60-100 kms / day.

Dont even wait for a day, i would suggest go to a place like sai service and get it fitted right away.

I m getting 23km p/kg mileage now
wagon R CNG company fitted.

Dear Amit

Its good to hear that you have been commenting upon CNG kits but friend your list for kits is not updated as many players have entered into the market like i recently got my car fitted from Maruti Dealer and with TES kit (sequential Injection) and after doing a lot of research online and even visited the company office in New Delhi and got quote convinced with there sequential system

Hey sumit if you are travelling 60-100kms do go for CNG and go for it fast as u start saving more and more

Punit surely you should go for sequential injection system. i got it done in my car and i would recommend everyone (whosoever has euro IV cars) to go for this system.

Mine was installed in front of me with minimum wire cutting (they did not tampered my cars wiring) no cuts, i liked TES system

Aalok thanks for sharing the point. I will put some time in research and update the list, it would be nice if you can share your research and we can update it here for general benefit of everyone

i have ritz,5 month old,i want to install cng kit, would u plz suggest me which one is good lambda(35000k) or sequential(55000k to75000) some says in k series engine lambda kit not perform well, only sequential kit give me proper result and one mechanic told me only autogaz(75000k) company's sequential kit is match with euro4. so amit which one is good for ritz k series engine and u r swift have k series engine

Hello Vishal,

I seriously feel that normal kit will be good for ritz, though sequential kits are better as compared to non sequential in any case but they are generally used in High end cars like Honda accord and all.

I suggest you go to Sai Service kind of authorized agency rather than a normal mechanic. i have seen cars fit at both places and there is a big difference in the fitting between someone like sai service and a road side mechanic.

Cng kits dependency on euro4 is something that i am not aware of and one that you should confirm with some professional fitters.

Hope it helps

I have a Fiat Palio converted on CNG with Tomasetto sequntial kit. Since I convert car on CNG, I am facing below given problems:
1. Engine gets switched off on low speed (1st gear)
2. On signal or in traffic I face this problem repeatedly

I have complained the same to vendor (Eco Drive, Kharghar & Fortune-Vashi), who just made settings 3-4 time & again the same story repeats.
Can you share your experience on this? Does it happen with all cars/Kits ?

Rajiv Nagare,
Panvel.

Hello Rajiv,

I have never faced this problem and i have two card on CNG one an Accent and other Swift dezire. I believe there is a tuning problem which your mechanic will have to fix infact i believe he is doing that , its just that your tuning gets spoiled every now and then. I dont think its a major issue but you need to certainly get it rectified as its dangerous that the car might stop anytime on slow speed and someone might bang it from behind.

Amit

I want to install an RTO approved cng kit in my Accord V6 2004 is there any RTO approved kit for this car in mumbai??? Pls guide me.

Hello , i want to put a cng kit on my indica- xeta1.2/2008 model. I have heard that the cng has a lot of problems with xeta. is tomasetto a good kit for xeta ? I hope closed loop kit instead of sequential will suffice the purpose ? i am getting it for 32k with rto is it good enough. what should i check while getting the conversion done?

tomasetto kits are good and you wont need a sequential kit for xeta. 32k is also a good price ask the dealer if it includes power booster and also safety valves as part of the kit.

regarding CNG having problems with xeta in particular , in that case i would not be the right person to comment,

Hey guys,

I want to fit a CNG in a Maruti Swift, I am considering a Lovato or a Longas kit.

The Lovato kit, I am planning to get the same fitted from an authroized dealer of Lovato, whereas Longas i would be getting it fitted from a person who does the fitting for authorised service centres such as Sai service or Vitesse.

What do you recommend? Also which of the above brands are better? And is there any safety related risk for fitting a CNG? Kindly advise?

Hey Kunal,

I have a maruti swift dezire, i would strongly recommend go to sai services and get it done they will be expensive than the market but really worth it. + only authorized service center are allowed to put safety valves in the car not other mechanics however good they might be. there are two kinds of safety valves one for the engine to stop in case of accident and one for the cylinder to stop releasing further gas in case of accident and one of these i dont remember whcih one but are only allowed to be put by the authorized dealers as it touches the core engine of the car.

Both kits are equally good. so it dosent matter

Hope this helps

Hi Amit I checked with Autovista and they are quoting 60k for the Longas kit. Donno if there is a increase in cost since you installed it. I guess it will be a good idea for me to check with sai service. How is the pickup with ac on for your car

Also could you clearify if you have installed a open loop or a sequential longas kit?

Thats expensive man. please check with sai service. the pick up definitely drops there is no doubt about that but the increase in mileage that you get will compensate for the same. its not a major drop anyway. but certainly not as same as petrol

I am currently getting 18 as my car's average

i havent installed sequential, they are ment for bigger and more powerful cars

I have an SX4 Zxi VVT – May 2010 model car. An authorized MASS/authorized CNG vendor is asking me to install sequential kit on the car – 65k is the price quoted. On the other hand, few other friends and known people + reading few forums on net suggests that we can go in for normal CNG + lambda + advancer to do the trick.
I am all confused – for the above model, which is a better kit ?

Dear Puneet,

My friend has installed normal lovato kit in his sx4 since last 4 months and the installation was done by sai service at 35000- 40000 rupees. its working perfectly fine.

Amit

@ KP Universal

Please testify if you guys are government approved vendors and sell RTO approved kits so that readers can be assured of your quality

@Dharmesh auto gas

Please testify if you guys are government approved vendors and sell RTO approved kits so that readers can be assured of your quality

Dhiraj,

If you get it installed at some garage then you will loose company warranty, its not a good thing to do since your car is only 1 year old. You should go to official service center or from where you bought the car they should be able to install the kit and also protect your warranty LIke i did from Sai Service mumbai. Also if this does not happen to be the case then you will have to take a call between saving money on fuel or save warranty for some future damage. I would still recommend save fuel as the amount saved eventually will be more than what the warranty covers.

Hey even I have a swift vxi with cng kit. And I am facing problems like there are some kind of bubbles type noise coming from the bonate in low gear. This noise was never before the installation of cng kit. Can u suggest me what measures can I take to overcome these bubble type noise coming in low gear?

Rohan,

tuning of your gas kit is not proper it has to be around 950 rpm thats why its not getting enough gas in low speed. get it checked and that should be fine

Mine is working really good. touch wood lot of people are having some trouble i guess it really maters from where you get it done

Amit

Hello amit. I have a swift vxi with open loop cng kit installed in Mumbai. And I want to convert is to closed loop cng kit. Due to acceleration missing problem in 2nd gear. And the dealer is asking for rupees 5000 for the conversion? Is it worth paying 5000 extra?
And do the Sai service people do gas setting of open loop cng kit in swift vxi?
Pls rep to all my queries.
Thnx in advance

Hi amit,

I want to install CNG kit in my Chevrolet Optra,
can u pls suggest me a suitable kit & dealer in mumbai for the same,
Thanks waiting for ur reply

Hi Amit,

I had very bad experience with Longas Fellow in Mumbai.

He said Sai Service dealer use him for fitting Longas system in Maruti cars and they are the sole distributors of Longas Kit. It is Chemotech Fabcon Andheri (East). So I am sure your car though fitted by Sai Service, was actually fitted by this fellow.

I done a deal with them for closed loop system for 27K. When I ask to show me the kit he brought different components from different places and then did put them in a box and showed me the Kit. Only Reduceris from Longas. Rest all components like emulator, TAP, HP pipe etc all are local made. When I asked about lamda control system he said he will show me later.

During installation I repeatedly ask to show me lamda control system, he said that he will put in the end. I left car there and came back in the evening. To my shock, they kept the car ready with only open loop (of which many components are local made and finish of fitting is of low quality). When I ask where is the closed loop system and lamda control? They said it is already there and showed me emulator and Timing Advancer…!!!!!!

I fired them and showed on my mobile what is lamda control system. They behavied ignorance and when I debated a lot. They said first I should get oxygen sensor checked and then only they can install…!!! that means they already knew what is lamda control and was just trying to make me fool….! When I said they should reduce the price by 5K which is the cost difference between open loop and closed loop…They say they can only do 1K discount in that. I asked what make of Lamda they use it must be local made….they had no answer…

I forced them to remove the kit….and back to home..
But the point is that….some or rather many or rather all fitters use many local made or faked component (using stikers of the company) in the Kit…

Amit, Just check what make of components are used in your Longas kit..

Hello Anil,

Thats a striking research and i am sure this will help a lot of people like us being taken for a ride because of our ignorance. If the place that you are talking about is in mahakali caves andheri east then its the one from which Sai Service gets the fitting done.

Even i reached these guys before fitting but then later on i decided that though Sai Service is charging 40 k as compared to 30 k that these guys charge who are doing installation for sai service vehicles i am still going to get it done by Sai Service. The result. They opened a sealed box in front of me before installation also they the same kit was installed using high tech equipments at SAi Service and not by hand. to me that itself makes a big difference.

And at the end of the day its Sai Service's guarantee. There was some noise in my CNG system after first two months, they replaced complete kit an yeah yet again i checked that its a new kit.

So though sai service uses kits imported by that guy and uses their workforce to fit it, but the fitting happens at Sai Service in front of their supervision and that makes the difference. Thats the main reason in all my comments and in the article i have been point out that please get it installed by a authorized service center

BUt thanks so much for bringing this to light, I guess you should complain in consumer court if you have time.

Hi,

I am planning to go for CNG but m bit confused on the Kits avaliable in the market.. Can you please help me out. I have i10 Era. 2007 manufactured. Some dealers in market suggested me to go for sequential CNG kit.

1)Can you please let me know , what difference will it make if i go for normal CNG kit instead of sequential CNG kit since the cost difference is Rs 20000?
2)Will i able to use AC if i convert to CNG? what will be the running cost difference?
3)which brand of CNG kit shld i go for?
4) can you also suggest me the best place to get CNG fitted in Thane/Mumbai?

Regards,
Krishna

I want to install CNG Kit in my WaganR Lxi BSIII model.
Please suggest me suitable kit and vendor in Pune.

i am sorry i would not know a good vendor in pune

Asnwers:
1) Sequential kits are better in terms of mileage and pick up as compared to closed loops
2) AC is no problems. i have been using it for 8 months or so and havent spent single rupee towards maintenance of CNG
3) i have installed Lovato, read the list in the article they are all RTO approved and all are same
4) I have got it fitted from Sai Service Andheri they are expensive then the rest by 7-8k

engine life remains to be seen, but i surely feel it will be lesser as compared to pure petrol car. The performance is good after installing CNG in city driving there is not much difference

Hi Amit,
I want to install CNG Kit in my Getz GLE 2 years old car. One dealer of LONGAS offered for 27k.
please give your opinion.

Kishor from Pune

Hi Amit, first of thanks for your valuable post,
Can you please help me out. I have MARUTI SWIFT VXI 2006 ,I am planning to go for CNG but m bit confused on the Kits available in the market like manufactured. Some dealers in market suggested me to go for sequential CNG kit.

1)Can you please let me know , what difference will it make if i go for normal CNG kit instead of sequential CNG kit since the cost difference is Rs 30000? like normal kit TA from ARG.is 30000 k and sequential is 60 k .

2) wud be the major running cost difference and performance ?

3)T.A from Argentina brand of CNG kit shld i go for?

4) can you also suggest me the best place to get CNG fitted in Delhi Ncr ?

thanks in advance .

regards
vijay

Hello Vijay,

For a swift the standard kit is not going to make any difference. Sequential kits are better but they are mainly used to higher power cars. Also your car is already 6 years old. If you double the cost of CNG you will take double the time to reap its benefits. I dont think you would want to spend 1 year just to break even the CNG cost.

I am sorry i would not know of any good place in delhi.

Hi Amit

thanks for best advice ,

as u written in first line that swift the standard kit is not going to make any difference that means Sequential kits not going make any difference?

2- i have one dealer is delhi is authorized agent of Maruti but its providing only BRC kit,
so BRC kit is fine or TA from Argentina .

3-ppl are saying the moment u fitted CNG kit ur car price will go down 50 k down ,ITS TRUE?

waiting eagerly for valuable advice.

thanks
vijay

1. yes i mean normal kits are ok

2. If he is authorized maruti service center then go ahead with any kits they install, just check if they are authorized by RTO in Delhi

3. lets assume even if it reduces the price by 50k. you will still save much more than that if you intend to use the car for couple of years.

4. I feel the value will increase with the rising fuel costs people would want to buy a second hand car which already comes with CNG

I want to fit a CNG in a Maruti ecco, I am considering a Lovato or a Longas kit.

thanks Amit for best advice .

Hi Amit,

I am from Pune and recently bought 3 year 10000 KM used Alto LXi. My monthly running is approx 750 KM. I want to convert it into CNG and asked same to CAR dealer who said they only do it for brand new cars (company fitted kit).

Please advise me if you know any dealer from Pune.

Thanks,

Ranjit

sequentials are better but generally used for bigger cars

Hello Ranjit,

I am really sorry i would not know of any good vendor in Pune i can only suggest you go to a authorized maruti services center and they will do it for you.

Maybe someone else can suggest here ? guys good dealers in Pune for CNG ??

Thanx Amit,

I hv INDIGO CS GLX (Petrol) 1.5 yr old. 6-Month warranty remaining. I am running 800Kms/Month with 11.5 kms avg in city. Now I am inquiring for CNG kit. No authorized TATA dealer is fitting any CNG kit in PUNE. I want to know, which is the suitable kit for my car? One road-side fitter guided me BRC-closed loop. He is offering it to me @ Rs. 31500/-. Is it OK? Is there any problem with this type of modification? Regards, — MAKARAND.

Please read Indigo CS eGLX at my post

Hi… I m planning to install CNG kit in my 10 month old Toyota Etios (petrol) but I understand there are no kits approved by Toyota for use in Etios. So if I install one, my car warranty will be null & void. Thats why I need to go to open market for buying CNG kit. Which type & make shall I go for?
Thanks in advance for yr time.

Could you throw some light on the closed loop versus open loop, and while we are at it… what exactly is closed loop in your opinion… advantages of closed loop.

as my authorized agent of BRC KIT saying he has only one kit that lamda, time advancer and gas reducer its closed or open kit?

once again eagerly waiting for valuable advice.

hey amit,

i got an TESMON argentina kit installed on my veicle (sequential) its an approved system as i myself visited there office and saw the certificates in original as i was quite doubtful earlier. i need to be satisfied before i spend that huge amount. though they directed me towards a fitment centre but they were quite helpful in answering my queries. i found them through internet research only but yes i am very much satisfied as i have driven the car almost for 60000 kms on CNG with this system and till date not regrets…

i hava swift vxi ithought convert my car cng &lpg kit my car which kit is best my car iam in orissa which service station in orissa is best plese mail me

open&close kit

i am going to come up with a post that exactly explains the same in a day or two .. please stay tuned

i would not know anything about orrisa. but go for CNG and not LPG.

AJay,

Since your car is under warranty, i would really recommend that be very sure before installing the CNG kit. as things covered under company warranty are very very expensive. Having said that most card run very well untill the warranty period and lets assume a scenario that you run the car for 2 years before something major goes wrong. untill then you would have saved enough by using CNG instead of petrol.

All the kits mentioned in the article above are RTO approved and you can install anyone of them

Amit

Hi Amit,

I just visited few RTO authorised dealers around my place and following are the offerings:.

BRC closed loop for 30k (including RTO charges)

Prins closed loop for 30k (including RTO charges)

1) I havent heard abt Prins kit. Please advice in between both of mentioned.

2) Also let me know if something I have to ask for???

3) Please give me the hints how to verify everything is genine?

I am planning to convert on this Thursday.

Pls revert soon.

Ranjit

I would suggest for go BRC as i havent heard of Prins. what you should do to ensure everything is genuine is to get the guy to open the kit box in front of you so that you can inspect all part of the kits. most people who are fraud use the core part as original and use other stuff which are indian made. so when you see it unpack you will be able to ensure that all the parts are genuine.

Also ask for safety valves which will stop the low of gas in case of accident. along with power booster which will help solve the pick up issue when you turn to gas.

Thanks Amit for quick and detailed reply. I asked for safety valve and power booster and the dealer said its part of kit.
How to identify that power booster and safety valves are installed or not? he may refer this to something else.

Hi Amit,

Can you please suugest me which one would better in CGN or LPG kit? I know LPG is costly as compared to CNG but CNG is not readily availble in jaipur. I am wondering if performace of car will not be same in both the cases. I have Swift which is not giving very good average and run around 40K kms. Please reply

CNG is better but if you cannot get CNG in jaipur easily then no point going for CNG. You should go for LPG only thing is CNG is more safe, cheaper and dosent damage the engine if these newer imported kits from italy are installed.

Only if you can identify few places closer to your home or work from where u can regularly refill CNG then i would suggest go for CNG.

I am converted my i10 kappa petrol to CNG from Go Green System Faridabad with CNG injection system .This fitment center operated by Mr. Sunil Raj (Ex. Hyundai CNG division R&D Head) he have good experience in CNG injection System and his phone no. is 9871665777. I am happy with my car performance.

Cheers

plz suggest

Hi,

I have a hinda city 2005 model and i dont have budget for sequential , can you suggest me about the open loop CNG ? and how about Zavoil brand CNG is it better than Lovata ??

or let me know which brand is good for my car and what type.

You dont have to put sequential and i dont know about zaoil but in the article above i have mentioned RTO approved CNG kits

Andheri East which is on the highway. Contact person is 9594952257 his name is ramaji

if you can afford it sequential is best if not open loop also works perfect, just that it requires manual tuning at regular intervals say 6 months

thanks fro sharing your positive feedback with people here

Please suggest me a good CNG kit , to go with for my car.

Hello AmitSir,
i want to install CNG KIT IN MY HONDA ACCORD 2.4ltr 2008 model…OLD SHAPE
plz suggest
i wanna know whether it is applicable on honda accord…what r the effects on engine

Hello Pranav,

All what i have written in the article is applicable to Honda Accord. I would suggest you install a sequential kit as you have a bigger car.

There are no adverse effect on engine as these are imported kits and everyday if you drive 2 kms on petrol first nad then move to CNG and also after every 1000 kms on cng drive 10 kms on petrol it will never cause any problem to the engine.

Amit

Sir thank you very much for your helpful advice

Dear frenz

Plz suggest a cng kit for my sx4 vi 2008 model. A close or open loop system. Also d best place in Mumbai thr i can install d same.

Warm regards.

Just a piece of information based on personal experience….I have 3.5 yrs old Accent Executive, I got it fitted with Lovato CNG kit from a RTO approved dealer one year back…The cost-saving aspect was infact good however there were mainly pickup problems..It gives me a mileage of 16-17 in city(with AC) and around 19-20 on Highways.
Even After regular tunings of engine, the pickup issues were not resolved, thats when my fitter suggested me the Lovato Power Booster…and My God, it works…Now such is the performance on CNG I have to check to make sure that it actually is running on CNG and not Petrol :p…My Friend has SX4, with company fitted CNG(sequential kit)..it works really well and he never faced any issue..ofcourse the price difference is there…his kit cost him 60k and mine 30k.

Hello Pankaj,

Thanks so much for sharing this post. It will surely help people who are willing to install CNG.

Pick surely drops but its ok lets make this planet pollution free.. ;-) and save loads of money for us

Hi Amit,
Was really impressed by the time you have taken to not only share your knowledge/experience but also respond to the comments posted by people. And i hope my queries are also replied by YOU.

I own a Hyundai Getz GLS 1.3 – 2006 Nov model. I have been contemplating to convert it to CNG. Can you please suggest the following:-

1. Which kit do you suggest ? Sequential/open loop/closed loop/or any other) ?
2. How much would the kit cost ?
3. From where can i get it fitted who would also provide me a warranty of the KIT and provide regular car servicing ?
4. Is it worth converting an old 2006 car or is better to sell this car and buy a new CNG small car ? If yes which one in the budget of 3-4 lakhs ?

Appreciate your take on the above.

Thanks,
Sachin

1. open loop as its cheaper but requires regular tuning
2. 30-35k
3. any good garage in your area will be ok there is no rocket science in fitting the kit
4. i would strongly suggest , go for a vagon R company fitter CNG, as since your car is old and now if you put cng i think it would not be a good option. your will surely save a lot of money in petrol but eventually the car will give up

Does anyone have idea about Hyundai i10 era 2011 model with cng kit?
How much mileage u get (with/wo AC)? & what is the performance and pick up?
Anyone in pune have done this?

Thanx in advance.

Dear Amit,

i have similar question to ask you. I have 9 months old Hyundai i10 Era. But due to rise in petrol prices, i am really worried with my new acquisition.. I drive mostly on weekends. And my total running is now 2700 kms only.
1. So is CNG conversion neccessary for my car?
2.If it is then what type of CNG Kit shall i get installed?
3. Currently i am getting mileage of 13-14 kml with AC and 15-16 w/o Ac in city. What mileage do u think i shall get once i fit Cng kit?
4.Since the car is new and it has only run 2700 kms till now, Do u really recommend a CNG kit?

Please help me out with my concerns.

Thanks & regards,
Mukund.

In a small car sequential kits are not required but yeah they are always better than normal open loop kits for rest of your questions please go through the article and comments here

if possible reply of this answers on my mail id pankajks@rediffmail.com

I have installed tomasetto in spark. You can choose either tomasetto or lovato both are equally good. Then you have option of open loop or closed loop. I have put open loop.

There are reports of lambda control system being problematic in i10 either go for open loop or sequential. price difference is almost double. so i think open loop is fine.

Amit Can u please reply

hi Vijaya,

did u install the CNG kit in ur car yet? I have a Vista saffire 2011, I visited a dealer in kandivali and she told me that i shud only consider the sequential kit for vista as the new models are not completely compatible with the closed loop kits and MAY give problems. So im very confused now….

Hi Amit , Thanks for discussing this ,, I have 2006 Santro xing running 50k Kms now . i am slightly confused on which is the better kit Lovatao or Tomesto . and why not the sequential kit. My worry is why does CNG causes Fire in cars ? which is a better option that can remove this fear from my mind. Also suggest me a dealer near dwarka

Hello Raja,

Both kits are good
CNG is safer than petrol as it evaporates faster in the air so its not only CNG any other fuel also would have caught fire in that situation

hi mr.amit

thanks for starting a fantastic guide for novices like me who are pondering converting car to CNG.I have a swift model people are advising me to go for a sequential CNG kit.cost from sai service is 62k. should I go for same and is cost in line with marker.kindly advise

i would suggest go for a normal non sequential kit , i have installed the same in my dezire since 1 year and i have no problem. I got it installed from SAi Service for 40k if you can spend 62k then i would suggest go for sequential kit as they are always better than open loop

Hi – I am based in Mumbai (Kandivali) & I have a Maruti SX4, Oct 2010 model which has run approx 22K KMS till date. My daily running is approx 80-100 KMS in city as well as highways. With increase in petrol cost, i have decided to install CNG in my car. Few queries:
1. Do I go for a closed loop or Sequential?
2. Which company CNG fitting should I go for as I have contact multiple dealers & every dealer has given me different info. Some say go for closed loop & some refer to sequential. The kit they have recommended is of Companies like Lovato, Landiranzo, Bucatti, Autogas, etc. I am confused which I to go
3. The cost also varies for the same kit & brand. For example, vendor 1 for sequential said the cost would be 62K & vendor 2 said 55K. I am confused.
4. I have also heard some people having problems initially after installing like vibration in car, less power in car?

Please help in the above queries & suggest a suitable approved CNG kit & vendor in Mumbai (Kandavali) area.

Thanks
Santosh

Same as Santosh. SX4 – July’10. Queries same. Add, why is there a huge difference in price quoted by various vendors? Is there so much cheese in it??

Hi, I have Skoda Fabia. Kindly guide me what can fit in my car (CNG/LPG Kit). It is Petrol and getting average of 8 KMPL in city and 14 on H/W…

And the advantage of the fitment is he is not braking any petrol wiring and whit in 4 hr. they are completed fitment and testing.

Dear Pankaj, I also have a accent executive, 3.5 years old, and em planning to get it converted to cng primarily becos my run has increased from 5 kms per day to 50 kms per day. How much would if benefit to me in mileage as petrol was hardly giving me 10 kms per litre?
My car is in a great condition otherwise as it has driven only 18000 kms.

Dear Amit

Hi. I wish to purchase a new Maruti Swift Dzire. Please suggest which CNG Kit should I go for better performance- Pick up/mileage etc..

Hi Amit ! I have sx4 zxi. and has travelled 98k . is it right to install a cng kit at this time n if yes which do you think will be best for my car? thanks n regards……………….. Rajeev Karnik.

Hello Rajeev,

It depends on how long you gonna use the car for. if you will use it for another couple of years minimum then you should install a kit. a sequential kit will be a good one but a bit expensive.

Amit

If you have the budget since car prices have fallen then go for sx4 it comes with factory fitted CNG kit which is awesome. If not then since its a new car recommend that you buy and install the car from the same dealer who is selling u the car like sai service. as it will not void your warranty which is most important for a new car. again if u have the budget then go for sequential kits and if not then go for standard kit of any RTO approved gas kit

Hi Amit,

Just 2 months back, I installed Tomasetto(Argentina)CNG kit in my Hyundai Accent Car, now I am facing a problem when I starts my car RPM goes Up & down very frequently on its own , due to which it gives a feeling of very low power in my car for few minutes. At that time if I switch on AC then car immediately gets off, this happens for first 20-25 minutes after that it becomes normal. Though my car is running good on CNG but in case of petrol it creates problem.Kindly help as I have seek advice from number of mechanics but not getting any satisfaction.

I have maruti ritz 2010 model. I got tomesstoo cng kit fitted in it . It ran properly for 5 months and then I got the car service from maruti service stations and also got the fuel injector cleaned up. Now, I am facing break problem at low speed and at nutral due to low rpm of the engine on cng. My installer is not able to tune the engine so that I can get required rpm. Can anyone suggest me what I can do and from where I can get it tune up so that the problem is solved.

your cng vendor should be able to tune it. there is no reason why he should not be able to do it. now you have two options either ask maruti service center guys to tune it for you as they will not remember if you had go it installed by them or no so take your chances there. or you will have to try your luck with another local cng vendor as tuning is a very easy job. i hope this helps

Hi,
I have a lovato CNG kit installed in my Santro and has covered 15000 Kms in CNG. Off late the car has developed an irregular accelaration ( missing) during the first few Kms on CNG.
Afterwards it works fine. Got the car retuned but still the problem persists. The problem is observed during the starting of car after it is kept idle for long duration eg Overnight.

Kindly advise.

Hi, I am having ford fusion 2005 nov petrol model, can you suggest me that which cng will work in that.

Can anybody explain what CKP system is ? I have recently visited a lovato company showroom in ahmedabad, according to them this is compulsory in K-series engines along with lambda. The charges for this is Rs. 34000, where as the other one with TAP technology is Rs. 32000…

what is the difference between these two ? &

which one will be suitable & appropriate for Alto K10 ?

Hello Mangesh,

The engine will deteriorate over time so yeah in that sense the value of the car might go down technically, but hey will the rising fuel prices and everyone wanting to go for CNG it will only increase the value of the car as its already fitted with CNG kit and the next buyer will save 30k to install it

Regards

Amit

both are suitable but i suggest you go for CKP just make sure they are the sequential kits

it is successful in i20 for sure and the average would be 70% more than what u are getting in petrol

DEAR AMIT.
I HAVE MARUTI RITZ VXI FROM 2009.
WHICH CNG KIT SHOULD I GO FOR IN VADODARA OR AHMEDABAD.

how much amount u paid for cng kit in ur cng injection system

i would not know anything about vadodara

Rahul i suggest you drive first 2 kms on petrol and then switch to CNG that might solve the problem. I do so everyday. as petrol is liquid fuel and gas is dry ..

i would say .. go for CNG and not LPG. I would not be the right person to actually comment on cng and ford vehicles but i havent heard anything like that so far.

Hi Abhijeet,

I am planning to CNGfy my Swift VXI 2008 based on my higher future running. Can I get a expert advice from you about CNG kit fitment ? How is car performance after the kit fitment and would you recommend Sai Services for the installation ?

-Amar

I am planning to buy a 2008 used/second hand Swift ZXI which has already run 50K km and install a closed loop CNG kit in it. Is it advisable at all? Will Sai Services or any authorized dealer will fit CNG kit in used car ?

What is the Maximum Capacity of CNG Tank ? as i want to fit for Esteem VXI 2007.
And Which will be a perfect match (I.e.Perform, Average, Maintenance & Pickup wise) CNG kit for Esteem VXI 2007 which is Runned 30K.
What will is be cost ?

Please reply with your expertise advise

its 14kgs but its fills around 8-9 kg and that will run on a average 130 kms and sequential kits are better for old cards and cost will be somwehre around 35k

Hi Amit….

Im considerng to buy a company fitted CNG car from Maruti there is one thing Im concerned about is about the safety factor of CNG kits incase of accidents as compared to petrol cars. Is there a high risk of kit explosion in case of accidents??….

CNG is safest as compared to petrol, disel, lpg as its vaporizes quickly and it needs higher temperature than other fuels to ignite

Ok guys after the long above conversation i giv u my opinion about cng.like other i was also confused weather to convert to cng or no.i use to run daily 50km in my maruti a-star.manny positive negative reviews were coming about cng conversation.finally after paying daily 500 bugs for petrol for 50km per days i decided to go to company and install cng.i visited vitasee andheri west ,as its the best authorised maruti centre .i asked abt cng to them ,mr deepak adviser advised me to put sequential cng kit as its k series.i asked what is difference in sequential kit and normal kit.sequential kit maintain car as petrol car and other kit loss the engine after 3 years.well normal cng from shrimankar dasmesh also i visited for price they offered me 31000 lowest with registration.vitasee offer me 64000 for sequential kit of longas italy.we i was shoked why the price have so difference outside and company.than i asked them they said what we fit is different style ,computer check etc etc..also one year warantee for kit we offer.avrerage for sequential is better than others.hence is costly than normal..today i have for my car with kit installed and took a long drive.only 1st gear was jurked and vibrate later was as smooth as petrol.he told me it will take 3 days to set the car cng and driver to set.i m really happy that cng got installed with good hand where car will b maintain also travel will b cheaper.i also asked maintaince for my cng car.every 5000 change ur spark plug and air filter so avrage will maintain.setting check up of cng also every 5000.dont sit in car and off the car while u filling cng.thats it.njoy my review abd u also get converted to cng soon.

Hello Mr Amit,I have bought a fiat linea 3 yr old model dynamic, and want to fit cng kit ,is it safe to fit it to fiat

Hi Amit,

I am having wagon R k sereis, BS4 engine, i fitted BRC closed loop, but the car is giving jerks at 2000 RPM in all gears. Some mechanics are saying that closed loop is not suitable for Wagon R. and need to install sequential kit.

Another mechanic suggested that there would not be any problem,

Could you please suggest what should I do?

Thanks in advance

Yes it's absolutely safe.

As far as my knowledge goes.. K series engines need sequential injection kit. closed loop and open loop would work for a few months and then start giving issues since the engine is based on sensors. so you should have gone for sequential man…

Thanks Aakash for the reply.

Could you please share your opinion on good sequential injection systems.
I want to know if you have heard about AEB sequential Kits.

Also, if can suggest some good sequential retrofitter in Pune would be great help.

Thanks in advance.

Toyota Corolla Automatic Transmission Model 2003: I have fitted my car with Lovato Sequential Kit and believe me its worth the money spend now, its an excellent kit with 10kg of cng i get an average of 130 kms with AC switched on , its great can recommend it to any one using Toyota Corolla, just a bit of negligible power loss which after a week of driving i had got used to it, however its absolutely fantastic and with my daily driving i have calculated and will recover the full cost in 8 months

Thanks for the article, it was helpful, i am getting a tomasetto installed in my Swift 2008 model from authorized dealer

Dear Sandy,
i too have Toyota corolla AT 2003 and have plans to get CNG fitted. kindly suggest dealers name, address and cost for the Lovato kit.

Dear Amit, I have an old Honda City 2001 model (Type II), have checked with couple of authorized CNG dealers who are not suggesting a sequential kit on this model.
Kindly suggest if I should go in for open or close loop kit and will it have any adverse effect on engine/car.

Hi Amit,

Dear Amit,
I liked your blog it is really worth learning,
Recently I converted my 3 year old santro xing into cng
There is this really wonderful and talented guy named Harish Bhoraniya who has a workshop in dahiser near the gurudwara, he gave me a open loop kit with a lamda controller, he is a master of the trade as he had been employed in maruti suzuki in his previous job, currently trmy car gives me 20kmpl on cng, i compared my cars cng fitting with that of other peoples and i was relieved that i had chosen the right person,

I am getting 31km/kg……..using M800 1999 DX model

Nice post. Thanks for this. One can retrieve his costs in about two years with a meagre every day commute of 15 km a day. If your journey is more, the recovery is faster. In India It has been utilized as fuel in a allotment of households for somewhat a couple of figures of years actually; however, its use was restricted to the families only. With the route of time, it has gradually appeared to be a most significant fuel option in a number of other sectors comprising of transportation,

Dear Friends,

Whats up very cool web site!! Man .. Excellent .
. Superb .. I’ll bookmark your website and take the feeds also? I’m happy to
search out so many useful info here in the submit, we’d like develop more strategies in this regard, thank you for sharing. . . . . .

I have been reading a lot about various discussions on CNG installation on internet but most of them dealt in parts. I thought of giving all the important information in simple language, in full at one place, so that all the facts about CNG installation and its settings become clear.

First of all understand that most of the CNG fitment centers are manned by uneducated businessman who have no background of auto engineering or any engineering, so do not expect them to educate you with finer details of your queries. Almost all the labourers who install your kits in fitment center are uneducated people who do not even know what they are doing. They just follow what was taught to them by the old or senior staff or learnt by themselves by experience. So, in short I want to say that you have to get educated yourself about the CNG fitment and tuning for peace of mind, else you will be making rounds of the firment center without getting clarifications.

Before you get the CNG kit installed, you should clearly ask about the pricing, type of kits like-open loop kit, closed loop kit  or sequential kit, whether bill would be given against payment, whether all parts would be imported, if not then what parts will be Indian and what imported, and whether RTO endorsement is included in the price. Also be clear about the capacity of cylinder being fitted, commonly 12 Kg or 14 Kg.

The best kits are made in Argentina and Poland. Plenty of duplicates are available in India. Also note that after installation of the kit the fitment center will send his person with you to the gas station to fill gas for first time for setting and tuning the kit. There is a racket here also, the staff of fitment center will tell the gas station that the car owner does not have the metal plate that is mandatory for filing gas, and the gas filling staff will fleece you with a higher amount which will be shared by the gas station staff and the fitment center staff. You have to agree for this as you need to fill gas in your tank without metal plate. The metal plate is given free by the Mahanagar gas in Mumbai after the kit is endorsed by RTO on the RC book. But for a month you will get a small paper receipt, which you can show at the gas station while filing the gas.

The average that you get after installation will be 60% more than what you got in petrol in city driving. If car runs 10 Kms in one liter of petrol, it will run 16 Kms in 1 Kg of CNG if the tuning is optimum. If the setting and tuning is properly done then there will not be much power loss and no warning lights blinking. On highway, when driving the car at uniform speed of less than 50 Kms per hour you will get very good mileage, much higher than city driving.

CNG KIT

There are safety taps in the kit to open and close gas supply from cylinder and at filling unit. The CNG kits contains a storage tank connected to a reducer to reduce gas pressure, then to mixer that feeds mixture of gas and air to the injectors. The gas and air mixture is sent to the engine where spark from spark plug burns the gas to generate pressure that moves the piston and gives power/acceleration to the car. In this simple Open Loop kit, the tuning for best performance is done by setting the gas flow, RPM of engine and spark quality. That’s all. If you master these three, you will be able to tune your open loop CNG kit of your car on your own for best performance.

One very important aspect is that never leave your car unattended while the kit is being fitted. You will notice that the CNG fitment centre will try to get rid of you by saying that he will install after few hours after finishing the existing car, etc, etc. The moment you leave the fitment centre you will be taken for a ride. I have observed that the fitment centers do not have trained personal to install the gas tank in the boot. Instead of drilling they use fat nails and hammer the boot floor to make holes. This not only weakens the car floor but also causes harm to your wheel alignment ad other mechanisms. It is as good as impact from an accident…they hammer so badly. This is the reason many people complain that their car floors developed cracks after few months.

When the installation of tank is done, the fitment center never does the centring of the tank. Means that the tank has to be kept in such a way that the weight is distributed equally on both the sides of the center-line of the car. The tank has to be placed in such a way that it does not have more weight on either left or right side, else your car will have varied tyre erosion, and will also effect the suspension, steering system, etc. When you will turn the car in speed you will notice that on one side the car feels different than the other side. This is dangerous.

Those people who had LPG installed before switching to CNG will see plenty of big holes left after removal of LPG tank. The fitment center will not do anything about it. Most of you will not even know that such a hole exists as you were not present when the kit was being installed. If there are such holes then cut an old spoilt tyre tube, bigger than the hole size and dampen it with fevibond, leave it for at least 10 minutes and place it over the hole after cleaning the area. This can be easily done by yourself. If you wish you can get the area welded also. But for that you have to finish the gas and remove the empty tank or get it done before new cylinder is fitted.

HOW TO TUNE THE CNG KIT?

Manual tuning can be done in open loop system. For closed loop and sequential system tuning is done through computer.

You will notice that there is one big screw on the pipe that goes from reducer to mixer. This controls the amount of gas flow. There is another big screw on the reducer, which controls the RPM. These two are to be adjusted to get the best tuning.

First of all place both the screws on full open, means full unscrewed. Then ask someone to turn ignition key while you keep the accelerator on higher side. If the engine does not start, open the gas screw by 3 full turns. If engine does not start again open by 3 turns. Keep doing this till you get the engine going with accelerator pressed. Now release accelerator and keep on opening and closing the gas screw till you get fairly good engine running. Then set the RPM with the screw on the reducer for best idle. For good mileage set the gas to lean by closing the gas screw a little, and for more power set it to rich by opening the gas screw little.

Now switch on the AC. If the engine starts to stall, open the gas screw a little and then increase the RPM a little till you get good and sensitive, responsive acceleration. This will be the best setting if you wish to run your car more on AC.

ENGINE WARNING LIGHT?

There are good chances that you may see flickering engine warning light, or the light may come on and off. This indicates that your sensors are working well but the setting is defective. The defect can be in wiring, the timing advancer or loose spark plug connections. Mostly it is the power booster or timing advancer or oxygen sensor wire. So, check that first.

SEVERE LOSS IN POWER?

Every one wants their CNG car to run similar to petrol. But there is some loss in power always. To get the best power, use NGK spark plugs, keep the spark plug gaps to lower than .9 mm. Lowering the gap of spark plug is as good as advancing the timing. Spark plugs and timing advancer/power booster play a very important role in generating power. If not set up properly, you will not get best power and acceleration. You can slightly increase the gas and increase the RPM to get power, but the milage will suffer, and it is not the best practice. Sometimes using larger gas mixture unit helps. At times cleaning the injectors and exhaust also helps in gaining power if they are clogged.

WHAT IS TIMING ADVANCER?

This is a small unit that controls the spark time of the spark plug in relation to the movement of the piston. As CNG is not as dense as petrol and requires more burning time, it is required that the spark is generated little before when the full compression reaches so that by the time the compression is to its maximum the gas is fully burnt making maximum expansion and pushing the piston with more power. If the spark is not advanced it will not burn the full gas mixture and not generate more power and also leave some gas unburnt and you may see engine malfunction light on your dashboard. The advance timing is denoted as degrees. It really needs good experienced person to set the correct advance timing. Unluckily, most of the CNG kit fitment centers are unaware of the technicalities of advance timing.

In some original imported kits the timing advancer / power booster comes as part of the kit by default, while in some you have to buy as add on by paying extra. It costs between Rs 1, 000 to Rs 2, 500 depending on brand and quality. Cheap Chinese ones are also available.

CLOSED LOOP

When open loop fitment has more control over oxygen sensor and injectors, it is called closed loop. This gives little more milage but costs about Rs 2, 000 to 4, 000 more. This setup controls the flow of gas to the injectors as advised by oxygen sensor and control unit to gain more control, giving power and saving gas to little extent.

SEQUENTIAL

This is a fully controlled system having plenty of sensor controllers ( about 40 to 48 sensors) to control each and every move of engine, gas supply, mixing, etc. Nothing is set manually in this setup. One has to use computers to do the tuning. Once tuned, you have to never touch the settings. Your car will run as good as it was running on petrol with very little power loss. But the cost of this system is twice as that of open loop. The problem with this setup is that in case of any defect you have to visit the specialized fitment center only. Road side mechanics will be of no help. You will not be able to do tuning by yourself unless you have the software, its knowledge, and connectivity of your engine with your laptop to do the settings.

WHICH IS THE BEST FITMENT CENTRE

As I already told you, almost all are no good, even the Lovato authorized center (Eco Fuel Centre) in Thane is also a crook. There are many instances where he did not give bill against cash payment after fitment saying that bill will attract 12 % taxes. They brutally hammer your car for making holes. They never use drills and your car is bound to develop cracks after you use their services. They even try to first place few defective parts by taking a chance that if it works, they will get rid of the defective part and make some money. Their accountant is a corrupt fellow and tries to make money by asking amounts for extension of gas filing receipts if you did not get the metal plate. The gas date extension is done free of cost by Mahanagar gas staff who sits in the Fortune distributors office near Sahanai banquet hall in Thane (West). You have to just show him the expired receipt and he will make new one for you in 5 minutes, free of cost.

Same is the case with almost all fitment centers. The only way you can save your car is to be present and question them if you sense any mischief. The fitment of CNG kit does not take more than 4 hours. Most of the fitment centers will avoid your presence and will make various reasons to make you go away, but you stick there like a leech if you want to save your car from abuse or know what they are actually doing.

HOW MUCH IS THE COST OF FULLY IMPORTED CNG KIT

The cost of open loop is Rs 24, 000 to 27, 000 without RTO work.

The cost of closed loop will be Rs 2, 000 to 4, 000 more

The cost of sequential kit will be between Rs 35, 000 to 50, 000.

RTO endorsement will be Rs 2000. But if you want to get it done by yourself, the fitment center will give you all the documents and you can get it done from RTO for less than Rs 300.

You have to negotiate when deciding about the price. Be clear about tax, invoice, RTO endorsement charges, warranty, etc.

FILLING CNG:

You will receive a metal plate with embossed car registration number and kit details. Sometimes, the CNG filling stations may demand you to show this metal plate before they start filing your tank. So, always be clear that the fitment center will be giving you the metal plate free of cost.

The life of CNG gas cylinder is very good, but the government has made it mandatory to get it rechecked after every 3 years and get fitness certificate from the authorized cylinder checking station. You have to carry this fitness certificate in your car in case it is required to be shown with RC endorsement. But rarely any RTO checks this.

Brilliant post. better than my original article ;-)

Good Post . Lot of info here specially about Eco fuel.

using Maruti Swift dezire(K series) jan 2010 with normal cng kit .please tell me whether I should change it with sequential kit .is there any effect of using normal cng kit on engine(like on head or any other) as gas flow in normal kit is different with sequential kit .or should I continue with normal kit.

we also offer cng sequential kit for Rs.45000 with RTO.We are importer of cng kits n renowned cng kit installer in mumbai.pls visit us dashmesh cng Mobile 9320339900 website http://www.dashmeshahutogas.com & having branches at Malad, wadala & vashi…

best to choose a top italian brand like brc, lovato etc
advisable to use only the sequential system
always better to choose the fitters most recommended by a large number of other cng users.
just dial has a user rating system which is quite respected. always choose a fitter who is voted high by a large number of users, not just by 5, 10, 15.
i am sure u will find a highly recommended fitter in ur area. good luck

cant say if normal kit has any negative effect or not, but my friends who own maruti k series engine cars, are all happily running on sequential cng.

i suppose, sequential should be substantially better and therefore upgrading to sequential should be better.

I have read so many articles or reviews on the topic of

keep it up.

Wonderful blog! Do you have any tips for aspiring writers?

I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything.

Would you advise starting with a free platform like WordPress

or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m completely overwhelmed ..

Any recommendations? Thank you!

I want to install CNG kit in my Logan 1.4 GLX BS-3, pls suggest apporved suitable kit & vendor in ahmedabad/vadodara.

Hello Amit,

Last month , I bought a used car SWIFT LXI 2006 model in delhi (total run 65000 km ) with CNG installed in 2011. So i have some below issues what i am facing :

1) The mileage is good on highways (approx 200 km) but while going to office from Delhi to Noida , it drops down to approx 120 km with AC . Why so ? because of heavy traffic ??

2) As CNG kit is installed in 2011 , i think it requires some CNG Test. What it is ? I need to do that or rather like my friends doing just replace my Compliance plate through any mechanic.

3) First gear is fine on AC also but when i shift to Second gear pickup is very poor. Do i need Timing Advancer and Lambda ??

Kindly Suggest some Soluctions :)

1. Most probably because of traffic. If it drops to less than 40% more than on petrol, you need to get gas system checked.

2. If compliance plate says tank validity is expiring, you need to get the tank re-tested for safety and then you get a fresh compliance plate. All this work is done by any cng fitter.

3. Better get the car checked and tuned by a good cng professional.

I want to instal CNG Kit in my SX4 VZI (Bharat) Model No 2008 Petrol. Please suggest approved suitable kit and vendor in Pune. Also comment on compatibility of CNG kit with SX$ VZI Mode 2008 and any future defect?.
